Where is my downloaded zip file google drive

When I download a folder of files, then Drive begins a zipping process. It then breaks up the folder into several several zip files at around 2 GB each and begins my pc begins to popup download for every zip file, i press ok to download. Once all popup has been downloaded, there are always missing files. This has happened every time. I download 1 large folder 10 GB from Google Drive but it becomes several zipped files. I would like to combine the downloaded split zipped files from Google Drive with its original folder and sub-folder structure. Open an incognito window in chrome and login and download from there. For some reason, the files do not zip when downloading from an incognito window. It proceeds directly to downloading. Strange, but it works!!
